Southern Music Fest

Five-piece southern rock band Blackberry Smoke will return to The Amp this month to headline Russell Lands On Lake Martin’s annual Memorial Day Concert. The event – named the Southern Music Festival this year – is scheduled for Sunday, May 27. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $30 if purchased at the door.

Lake Q&A: Oskar Albertson

Oskar Albertson grew up in the mountains of Colorado. “I am the youngest of seven children, and the only redhead, so I had to be tough,” she says. Oskar played sports in high school, and says that traveling is one of her favorite things to do. She has been married for 18 years and has two children. She is also one of the owners (and the namesake) of one of Lake Martin’s most popular restaurants: Oskar’s Cafe.

The air is getting to the point of being hot and the water temperature makes its way from really cold to refreshing when you get in from a hot day out on the boat.
